Culiacán, Sin., January 24, 2023.- For the first time, Culiacán has a 5-star hotel, with the opening of the Marriott Hotel, which opened its doors today Tuesday and ratifies Culiacán as a competitive and attractive city. for business and tourism.
This was highlighted by the mayor Juan de Dios Gámez Mendívil at the inauguration of this hotel of the Marriott International Chain, the first in the state of Sinaloa that also has the Humaya Restaurant, directed by the renowned chef Luis Osuna and which will offer exquisite gastronomy Sinaloan, all in the Plaza Ceiba shopping complex.
“On the one hand, it allows us to see that this investment by this international chain, since it confirms that in Culiacán we are a competitive city, we are an attractive city for business, we are a growing city, but this hotel was already very necessary for continue to grow and continue to develop as a city,” said the municipal president.
Likewise, he stressed that it will contribute not only to improving the hotel capacity in the municipality, but also to generate jobs and events that continue to position Culiacán nationally and internationally.
For his part, Guillermo Bátiz Esquer, CEO of Grupo ARCO, also emphasized the importance of opening this hotel for ARCO, since Marriott is the largest international hotel chain with more than 7,000 hotels and almost one million and average number of rooms in 131 countries and territories around the world.
He indicated that the investment of Grupo ARCO to make this possible was close to 500 million pesos and the work process has generated more than 500 direct jobs, and additionally Humaya Restaurant and Marriott Ceiba Culiacán will generate 130 permanent jobs.
Similarly, he commented that this hotel will be managed by the general manager David Flores with extensive experience in the hotel industry.
Finally, the Undersecretary for Promotion and Economic Competitiveness of the State Government, Felipe Ibarra Retamoza, thanked the synergy between the public and private sectors to make this hotel a reality, which will have 150 rooms, a restaurant and a meeting room with capacity for more than 400 people, since it will be directly reflected in the well-being of the people of Culiacan.
