Mayor of Colchane criticizes Minister Delgado's visit to Tarapacá due to migration crisis: "It doesn't work if it doesn't come with regulations in hand"

The mayor of Colchane, Javier García (Amplitude) referred to the visit of the Minister of the Interior, Rodrigo Delgado, to the Tarapacá region to see the migration crisis on the ground and the demonstrations around this matter that have occurred in Iquique.

“About Minister Delgado’s visit, I have not received any formal information and even less an invitation. However, in my opinion it is a pointless visit if he is only going to come to do the same thing as always, to put cold cloths to delay and bequeath this crisis. to the elected government without any self-criticism about it,” he said.

“Your visit is useless if it does not come with regulations in hand for the new immigration law, it is useless without the decree for the opening of the Colchane border complex, or a methodology for registering migrants, with efficient security measures for residents of the security and order forces, which are currently passive agents of the irregular entry of migrants,” he concluded.
