The mayor of Arauquita, Etelivar Torres, was reportedly denounced for exerting pressure on the vote of mayoral officials, in favor of a candidate for Congress for the department.
According to the evidence provided by the complainants, photos are attached where the assigned vehicle can be seen. to the mayor’s security scheme with political propaganda of the candidate, whom the municipal president is allegedly favoring.
The complaint ensures the apparent shipment of messages through WhatsApp to support the candidate and It was already filed with the Prosecutor’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office, from where the respective investigation will be carried out.

So far the mayor of Arauquita has not commented on the matter.
Based on the situation of insecurity and violence present in the department of Arauca, the national government has implemented the increase in foot force, as well as surveillance to prevent acts of violence and electoral fraud.

In Arauca for election day they will be deployed, within the framework of the Democracy Plan for this weekend, 7,000 men from the National Army and the Marine Corps, with more than two platoons.
