Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi presented a proposal for Christmas decorations in the capital at the City Council meeting with a budget of 1.5 million dollars. This figure includes both the lighting of the city and the celebration of the traditional Christmas parade.
The proposed amount represents a 75% reduction in costs associated with these activities compared to the nearly $6 million spent over the past two years. Mayor Mizrachi explained the proposal in a message on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), where he stated: “We will show that with less we will do more,” emphasizing the efficiency of his plan.
The project has been submitted to the councillors for consideration and will now be passed on to the Finance Committee for analysis. It will then be returned to the full Municipal Council for approval.
Mayor Mizrachi’s plan also includes the support of private companies, which he says will allow Christmas in Panama City to shine brighter than ever.
