Higüey, RD- The mayor of the Higüey municipality, Karina Aristyhe reported through his account instagram the worrying situation of clandestine racing which take place every weekend in different parts of the city.
Aristy expressed that this practice, which has become a custom among youthsespecially the saturdays and sundaysrepresents a serious danger to life of the participants and for the citizens who walk through the streets.
“This happens every Saturday and Sunday, clandestine races for everyone to see. I don’t know which authority to call anymore.”said the mayor, highlighting that the majority of those involved are minors.

The municipal executive indicated that, although has repeatedly reported this situation to the competent authorities, no strong measures have been taken to stop these types of acts, which in addition to being illegal, create chaos in traffic and They put the entire community at risk.
Aristy calls on police and traffic authorities so that intervene urgently and prevent this from continuing dangerous practice in the streets of Higüey.
