Mayor Hassler for acts of school violence in the RM: “I want to rule out that current regulations are not being used”

In the midst of the questions against her by the opposition about the non-application of the Safe Classroom Law due to the acts of violence that occurred in recent months in the Metropolitan region, the mayoress of Santiago, Irací Hassler, dismissed the accusations.

Along these lines, the municipal authority reported that more than 570 disciplinary processes are being carried out in educational establishments marked by acts of violence, such as the INBA or the Application Lyceum, and ruled out that “current regulations are not being used “.

“I want to rule out that current regulations that are available to the directors of the establishments are not being used, who will have to see in each case if it is necessary to shorten processes,” Hassler said.

“The truth is that the internal regulations for school coexistence allow us to address the disciplinary processes necessary to remove students who are seriously affecting school coexistence, to such an extent that we have carried out more than 570 disciplinary processes in our educational establishments, and several of them have derived precisely in expulsion processes and in registration cancellation processes”, concluded the mayoress of Santiago.
