Mayor Hassler announces legal action against the six arrested for a fire threat at the INBA: “They are small groups, but harmful”

The mayor of Santiago, Iraqi Hasslerindicated that legal action will be taken against those responsible for the threat of fire that affected the facilities of the Barros Arana National Boarding School (INBA).

To remember that yesterday morning hooded men left the establishment and began to confront Carabineros personnel by throwing incendiary objects. After that, as reported by the rector Maria Alexandra Benavides, some subjects started a threat of fire in a room next to the rectory, which caused the Fire Department to act. The fire was initially controlled by boarding school officials.

According to preliminary information, the subjects who started the fire escaped through Calle San Pablo, where six of them were detained by police officers. Five are minors and only four belong to INBA.

Legal actions

The detainees will be formalized during the following hours. In this regard, the mayor of Santiago, Irací Hassler, announced legal action against those apprehended by the municipality.

Also, in conversation with Radio Bio BioHassler, specified that these types of acts affect democracy and that they are carried out by a minority group, but tremendously harmful, so it should not be allowed.

Finally, he indicated that as a municipality they are working at a table with the community to respond to the requests of the boarding school students and improve the educational conditions of the establishment.
