Through a letter sent this Saturday to Kantutani Real Estate, Mayor Iván Arias invites the general manager of this company to a technical meeting this sunday December 1 at 10:00.
The end of the meeting is address the contingency plan that must be executed in the area of Under Llojeta, after the mass movement that generated a porridge last Saturday.
“An invitation has already been formally left to the Cementerio Los Andes company to be present tomorrow at 10 in the morning to carry out a coordination, within the framework of what is established by the Constitution (State Policy), the laws, the responsibilities that must be assumed and, obviously, guarantee a contingency plan in accordance with the responsibilities that the company has,” reported the Director of Governance, Gonzalo Barrientos.
In the coordination meeting we seek address what happened on Saturday, November 23 as a consequence of the “mass movement in the Pasajahuira River.”
“They have to take their responsibility, have unfortunately generated this earth movement and we require a contingency plan,” said Barrientos.
Kantutani Mitigation Plan
The Real Estate company Kantutani SA has hired a construction company for identified risk mitigation work and action exclusively in risk areas.
The company must foresee and guarantee security and stability conditions suitable for entry and operation of the machinery and personnel to be used, minimizing risks associated with the terrain and the environment.
In the execution of the work, The company must consider and comply with the points observed (channeling and hydraulic control) of the Action and Mitigation Plan, as agreed in the meeting held with the municipal technicians and the company hired by Kantutani Real Estate.
The Autonomous Municipal Government of Achocalla, through its designated technicians, will carry out the supervision of activities, ensuring that mitigation work is carried outapplicable municipal, environmental and safety regulations.
And the real estate company Kantutani SA is committed to continue managing the corresponding work before the Autonomous Municipal Government of La Paz, as well as coordinate with said body the necessary work in case interventions are required outside the jurisdiction of Achocalla.
