Major Ángel Delgado, director of Related Calamities of the Meritorious Fire Department of the Republic of Panama (BCBRP), provided recommendations this Monday on Radio Panama on the damage caused by the rains recorded over the weekend in the country, due to the effects indirect effects of hurricane IAN.
“These days we have had a lot of activity as a result of the climatic situation,” reiterated Major Delgado.
He indicated that some of the recommendations are:
- Be aware of the notices issued by SINAPROC and ETESA.
- If you are in flooded areas, be aware when rivers and streams begin to grow or when we see water currents that are not usual in our houses.
- Do not cross swollen tributaries in vehicles or on foot.
“We are having many electrical storms, take shelter as soon as possible, do not use cell phones when the storms are very active, as this could cause life-threatening situations,” he added.
