President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that a new line is being defined for the Mayan Train on his way through the Riviera Maya, in Quintana Roo.
To do this, he commissioned the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, to visit Carmen beach and speak with hotel entrepreneurs to help in this new design of the railway project.
The president insisted on the cooperation of the hoteliers, as he recognized that the work “has time on it.”
“The Secretary of the Interior has to help us there in Quintana Roo, and I take the opportunity to send a message to the hoteliers of the Rivera Maya, to help us, because a new line of the Mayan Train and hopefully cooperate. Their land does not affect them, that is, the part that they have built is going to make a line on the backs of their land, that is, it is not on the shore of the beach, but on the back, it is a new line ” .
In the most recent visit of President López Obrador to Quintana Roo, to supervise the works of the Mayan Train, Governor Carlos Joaquín reported that the president had informed him that there would be no change of line at the height of Playa del Carmen, as they had been requesting business chambers, professional associations and unions, so that the businessmen They already considered that possibility ruled out, given the progress of the works.
In the message of a few minutes ago, the president did not specify how the new line will be, nor did he specify if this change will be at the height of the city of Playa del Carmen, where the works already have a great advance to the center of highway 307, where the business community has expressly indicated that the work will cause great vehicular chaos and will end up splitting the city in two.
