May 1st in Carmelo: “Against hunger and famine

The members of the Inter-union Table will lead the May 1 act this Sunday at 10 am in the Espacio 1 de Mayo in the area of ​​the commercial port of Carmelo. “We will try to make a brief reflection on the moment that organized workers are going through,” the leader of the drink, Álvaro Correa, told EL ECO.

This year the slogan is being developed on the basis of the national proposal of “unity of all workers, Against Hunger and Scarcity”, since “we are all sensitive to the difficulty that Uruguayans have in accessing basic food, for work, salary and defense of Social Security”.
Also in what has to do with the unity of all workers because in these years we have witnessed a frontal attack on the unions, “blaming ourselves that we put spokes in the wheel and that we do not let the political class govern. Obviously we do not share that reading and that is why the slogan calling for unity, because although we are organized workers, unorganized workers are not having a good time either, ”he remarked.
The appointment will be at 10 in the morning, this Sunday, in the Espacio 1º de Mayo in the port of Carmelo.
