Mauricio Valenzuela of the digital media Foco spoke this Wednesday about the investigation of the case of swabs in Taboga, which resulted this Tuesday in the arrest of two former officials of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and a private individual.

It should be noted that the Foco platform uncovered the business of a private laboratory located on the Taboga pier so that travelers who wanted to enter the island could have swabs taken during the pandemic.

The owners of said laboratory were Labrador like Chang, who served as head of Epidemiology and Ana Lorena Chang as regional head of Public Health.

According to Valenzuela, legally they realized that the owners were both former officials and what prevailed in this situation was the “chutzpah” factor, since they were not simple Minsa officials.
