“When we were able to explore the terrain, we saw that it was tank two itself, which had been on fire since earlier hours… It took out all the fuel. The fuel spilled in the surrounding areas of the tank that ignited the brush. (…) Tank three is at risk because it has fires in its surroundings”, reported Mario Sabines, governor of the province.
The owner also said that actions to control the fire have been resumed.

According to the latest report from the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), since the start of the fire and up to now, one person has died and 122 have been injured, of which five remain in critical condition, three are in serious condition, and 16 are receiving care. The rest have been discharged.
More than a dozen firefighters are missing. While around 5,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in the districts of Matanzas located in the vicinity of the place.
According to official Cuban media, on Saturday night teams from Mexico and Venezuela arrived on the island to help extinguish the fire.
