At the headquarters of the Ministry of People’s Power for Planning, a Mass Training Day in popular planning named “Indigenous Peoples Sector Plan”, in which different presentations were developed and more than 50,000 people participated, in order to promote public policies for inclusion, in addition to creating strategies aimed at training native peoples.
“We have had a day where more than 50,000 people have registered who have participated in today’s activity and an accumulated number of 2,88,000 participants throughout the different days,” said the Minister of People’s Power for Planning, Ricardo Menendezwho also commented that the relevance of this initiative is linked to the deepening of sectoral plans in the specific case of indigenous peoples.
He also highlighted that this training plan is associated with the 3R.Nets, where the central axis is based on the leadership and participation of Popular Power, in the construction of direct democracy, which is why, currently, in Venezuela there are more than 40 indigenous peoples who have preserved their traditions, such as their clothing, language and lifestyle originating from their ancestors. In this regard, since 1999, the Venezuelan legal system guarantees full respect for the human rights of the indigenous population.
For her part, the Minister of Popular Power for Indigenous Peoples, Clara Vidalexplained that each of the strategic lines and actions of the Sector Plan is based on territoriality, the worldview and the culture of each of the original peoples.
Among the presentations, the Sector Plan for Indigenous Peoples stands out as leading actors in the development of the Homeland Plan, the Economic and Territorial Dimension, Public Policies with the Perspective of the Original Communities and Peoples, the Indigenous Communities in the National Statistical and Geographic System .
