On the last day of hearings in the trial for the murder of Fernando Báez Sosa, the defendants Lucas Pertossi and Blas Cinalli spoke. Both tried to disassociate themselves from guilt and assured that there was no plan to kill anyone.
“When leaving (the bar) there was a crowd of people, I see that my colleagues are invited to cross. I go to the right, I see a friend on the step, we sit down, we start to chat, to use the cell phone”, began by recounting Lucas Pertossi
“I hear screams, I stop, I approachI see that there are people I didn’t know but I recognize my friends. In some seconds I see that they grab a friend by the foot and want to throw him to the ground. I go up to him and say ‘let him go!‘, I kick him twice, I go back, I see that the boy tries to stop and I go to the corner. I never hit Fernando Báez Sosa,” said Pertossi.
Blas Cinalli, described as a coward by the lawyer Fernando Burlando, also tried to distance himself from the case, saying that “There was no plan to kill.”

Doctors Juan José Fenoglio and Jorge Rodolfo Velich, experts on behalf of the defense, also spoke, led by Hugo Tomei, lawyer for the defendants. In this regard, Burlando referred to the experts as Fixed Gear and stated that they left in a daze.
“I have no doubt that these people kill again, if they are on the street, they kill again, this emotional analbateiism that they show is really worrying, everything has an origin, a lot has to do with the house in the present of these people”, said the lawyer and highlighted the work of the investigators.
The prosecutors in the case, Juan Manuel Dávila and Gustavo García, indicated that everything stated today by Pertossi and Cinalli was in favor of the prosecution’s hypothesis. “We are satisfied because all the necessary evidence was obtained,” said Dávila.
