The Minister of Economy, Serge Massahighlighted in Washington that the agreement reached with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will allow the implementation of “key programs in infrastructure, health, water and tourism.”

“The agreement reached with the IDB is the result of joint work to achieve a Special Financing for Development package that will allow Argentina to launch key programs in infrastructure, health, water and tourism,” Massa stressed in his Twitter account. the Twitter social network.

The minister and the president of the IDB, Mauricio Claver-Carone, announced this Tuesday in the US capital that they managed to unlock credits from that organization for almost US$ 3,000 million for Argentina until the end of the year.

For his part, the Minister of Tourism, Matías Lammens, also present at the signing of the agreement, remarked that there will be “IDB financing for La Ruta Natural”.

“With this contribution of US$33 million and the Ministry’s own funds, we are going to promote 115 works to increase the offer of nature tourism throughout the country. This initiative is complemented by the 144 works carried out with 50 destinations after an investment of US$34 million”, Lammens pointed out on his Twitter account.

The official stressed that “this achievement is part of the strategic plan that we have been carrying out from the Ministry”, and stressed that this includes “the success of the three editions of PreViaje, the training of more than 420,000 professionals and the generation of more than 60,000 formal jobs.

“Nature tourism is in great demand in this new stage and Argentina has enormous potential in this regard: we have unique wonders in all regions. We are going to strengthen the tourist infrastructure to promote sustainable development in territories and communities,” said Lammens.

Within the framework of the agreement, four works are expected to begin in the last quarter of the year, which represent an investment of US$ 14 million: a tourist dock for smaller vessels in the Port of Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuego; the bridge over the Yabotí stream as an access road to the Moconá Provincial Park in El Soberbio, Misiones; the Maimará-Tilcara cycle path in Jujuy; and the refunctionalization of Camping Chicoana, in Salta.

Once the first stage has begun, it is planned to advance with a total of 115 works throughout the country, since the 24 jurisdictions presented projects to enhance their nature tourism offer.

The works will be carried out with financing from the IDB and the Ministry’s own funds, for an estimated amount that exceeds $10.5 billion.

The Natural Route is the first comprehensive program for the development and promotion of nature tourism.

Intertwining the natural attractions and experiences of each region with its cultural, historical, recreational or gastronomic attractions, it seeks to promote lesser-known circuits and destinations, articulate those already consolidated with emerging ones in integrated circuits and improve the territorial and seasonal distribution of tourist activity.
