The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, highlighted that US$6,000 million in agricultural exports have been liquidated so far this month, mainly linked to the soybean dollar, and asked all sectors to continue with the work to expand sales to the Exterior.
“For the Government it is a great joy to see the result of a policy that consolidates reserves and ensures the Argentine presence of exports,” Massa said through his Twitter account.
In that note, the Minister of Economy referred to the communiqué from the Chamber of the Oil Industry of the Argentine Republic and the Cereal Exporters Center (CIARA-CEC) in which he announced that “foreign currency income since September 1 reached US$ 6,000 million. Adding more than 11.5 million tons sold by producers, collectors and cooperatives”.

Given this, the minister urged: “Let’s continue working together next week throughout the agro-industrial sector and the Government to achieve the best possible result.”
At the beginning of the month, the Government launched the “soybean dollar” at $200 to encourage the liquidation of US$5,000 million in exports of this oilseed.
The Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Juan José Bahillo, confirmed that the “soybean dollar” “ends on September 30, that is defined”, and highlighted “the positive balance” that this differential price had for the oilseed since ” the expectation was US$ 5,000 million and that amount has already been exceeded”.
Bahillo, in statements to Cadena 3 radio, explained that he holds “daily meetings with the Economy team”, with whom they are “thinking about alternatives” because “the improvement of the competitiveness of the primary sector and regional economies”.
