MAS: Internal PSUV conflicts prevent appointments of the new TSJ

The MAS representative pointed out that the recent implementation of the Tax on Large Financial Transactions (IGTF) has created a “mess” in the country, by further complicating the way of making payments

The vice president of the political organization Movement Toward Socialism (MAS) María Verdeal assured this Monday that internal conflicts within the government party prevent the appointment of a new Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).

The masista leader indicated that this new judiciary should be appointed “without any difference or quotas of power and so far only fissures have been shown that are seen as a public and communicational fact.”

He pointed out that in a video circulating on social networks, Pedro Carreño, an official deputy and high-level leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), interviewed the president of the parliamentary commission for the election of the new Judiciary “makes a series of observations and criticisms that anyone who does not know would believe that it is someone from the Venezuelan opposition.”

Verdeal stressed that in the highest judicial instance of the country, apart from the administration of justice in favor of all Venezuelans, “being balanced, plural and with a selection of magistrates based on the credentials of the exercise of their position, a guarantee that they must have who are going to integrate the new Judiciary”.

Stripping by IGTF

The MAS representative pointed out that the recent implementation of the Tax on Large Financial Transactions (IGTF) has created a “mess” in the country, by further complicating the way of making payments “even in the simplest purchase of any good or service”.

“Businessmen or large companies do not know whether to apply it or not, how to do it and how to declare it, while, on the other hand, if a citizen goes to buy a medicine and they charge three percent, it is not clear that it could be a hidden VAT increase.

He assured that in this situation, endless comments have become popular that would seek to skip the payment of this tax, which, in his opinion, would make it clear that its application would only be about “improvisation in the management of the economy. Does the government want Bolivars to be used? The reality is that there are no circulating bolivars in the country”.

The national vice president of the party of the fist assured that the changes for the allocation of quotas that changed from being the first days of the month to an allocation by the terminal of the ID number, added to the fact that now the payment can no longer be made by biopayment, mechanism that allows the use of a bank account, but because of the Patria system where the user must have the money available, it corresponds to the “collapse of an economy that was already collapsed and destroyed, to which these brilliant ideas are added, which they must be so that the citizen goes crazy because there is no way to pay for something in the country”.
