The head of the Santa Cruz bench in the Chamber of Deputies, Deysi Choque, admitted that the president Luis Arce will run for re-election and asked his co-religionists of the “evista” block to prepare for the MAS primary elections, where it will be defined who will make up the MAS binomial.
“I am going to ask my fellow deputy, Héctor Arce, to be more responsible when it comes to issuing his criteria, we are not lying to the people, that his fear that compañero Luis Arce Catacora will do well, I think is making him speak many things, who wants to be a candidate who works, that demonstrates that it continues with the bases and surely in the primaries he will have the opportunity to be a candidate”, revealed the deputy Choque.
The Political Organizations Law (Law 1096) provides for the holding of primary elections so that the parties define their binomials. So far none of the MAS leaders, Evo Morales or Luis Arce, expressed their desire to go to primaries to define the binomial; however, those close to him did.
On November 10, the “evistas” deputies and renovators They already challenged themselves to measure their forces in the primary elections of the MAS and that reference began to emerge with insistence in the official ranks. In fact, this Wednesday the vice president of the MAS, Gerardo García, invited the head of state to conclude his management and then look for a party to be a candidate again.
Now, the deputy Choque said that the binomial will be defined in the primary elections that are provided for in the masista statute. “If he has the respect of the people, he will be a candidate for president again.but we don’t need to be made to look like the opposition, we don’t need to be called traitors,” he said.
According to Article 63 of the MAS statute The details for the designation of the pairing must be agreed upon in a national enlargement of this party.
Article 64 establishes six requirements to be nominated for presidential candidate: have Bolivian nationality of origin; 10 years old and an impeccable track record as a militant; monthly contributions up to date; not having affected party principles; not have infractions or judicial sentence; finally, not having been penalized by the Disciplinary and Ethics Tribunal.
According to Law 1096 The TSE must issue the call for primary elections 120 days before the call for general elections. These elections will be financed by the TGN and administered by the electoral entity that will define all the details and times of these internal processes.
