For the MAS, it is unconstitutional and impossible for the TSJ to carry out this assessment of the votes and added that “without totalization, neither adjudication nor proclamation can be made.”
The national vice president of the MAS, María Verdeal, warned this Monday, August 12, that the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) does not have constitutional jurisdiction to total the results of the presidential election of July 28 and that “the constitutional guarantees and other principles enshrined in the Constitution are suspended de facto and we cannot allow it. We have to raise our voices and demand compliance with the Magna Carta,” she said.
Verdeal insisted that the National Electoral Council (CNE) is an autonomous power empowered to carry out audits that are currently paralyzed and issue the results in a discriminatory manner for each voting center.
For the MAS, in addition to being unconstitutional, it is impossible for the TSJ to carry out this assessment and added that “without totalization, neither adjudication nor proclamation can be made.”

Maria Verdealwho is a lawyer, indicated that the judicial power’s attempt to issue a definitive ruling on the results of the presidential elections “will not resolve the complex political crisis that the country is going through, but will instead strengthen the conflict, affecting the governability and peace of Venezuelans.”
The legal specialist called on the different sectors of the country to reject all repressive actions carried out by the Maduro government, together with the State security agencies, because the population demands transparency about what happened on the night of Sunday, July 28. “This is not how peace is built; the government abuses its power to continue imprisoning Venezuelans,” she emphasized.
