In his speech, Esteban Moctezuma assured that the “Month of Chihuahua in the United States” aims to understand Mexico and Chihuahua at a deeper level, so that a mutually beneficial relationship is achieved. Also, he highlighted the importance of investing in Chihuahua since its geographical location is strategic for manufacturers from all over the world, and the entity is a leader in automotive, aerospace and medical industrial production.

“We want to introduce you to its unique gastronomy, its economic opportunities and the wealth of its people. Chihuahua speaks so much of the greatness of Mexico. Its territory is unique, the value and richness of its surroundings are truly incomparable”, highlighted the ambassador.

The activities of the “Month of Chihuahua in the United States” began on October 29 with the exhibition of the altar of the dead in honor of the Chihuahuan painter David Alfaro Siqueiros.

An offering to David Alfaro Siqueiros was installed at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington.

The program includes: a tasting of Chihuahuan wines and sotol; the “Ceramic Painting” workshop, run by artisans from Mata Ortiz; screening of the short film “Lorena, light feet”; a photographic exhibition with images of celebrations, rites and daily life of the Rarámuri culture; as well as the sale of handicrafts and regional products by the Artisan Promotion and Development of the State of Chihuahua (FODARCH).
