The Minister of the Interior, Nicolás Martinelli, met this morning with his designated successor, Carlos Negro, who will take office next Saturday, March 1 along with the elected government of Yamandú Orsi.
The transition meeting is held at the portfolio’s headquarters and began shortly after 10 in the morning.
The day coincides with the presentation of crime figures and crime reports corresponding to the year 2024, the last year of the current administration. According to the authorities, “all crimes decreased again, including homicides.”
However, in the case of homicides, the decrease was barely 1%, which, in the words of the authorities, reflects a “plateau” situation in this type of crimes.
