Many wonder how Martín Vizcarra has financed his political campaign to date. For a year marked by the trial and by the preventive detention issued against the former president, the political party Peru has first closed 2024 with surprising economic support.
This was stated by the same political organization in its financial report presented on July 2 to the ONPE, which reveals that the ex -president’s party quintupled his income in just twelve months, going from S/102,341.58 in 2023 to S/535,532.18 in 2024.
This represents a 422% leap in the last two years, which places it as the political group with the highest growth of resources at the national level. This considering that Peru was first founded only four years ago, in 2021.
According to the Clarity portal, where the financing of all political groups is transparent, the Vizcarra party presented only four days ago, on August 12, a rectification of its financial statements.
At first, they informed the electoral entity that the engine of their financial rebound had been, as Peru21 He corroborated in the document presented to the ONPE, private financing, with contributions from natural persons. However, in the new document, they said that the highest income amount was thanks to proselytizing activities, such as rallies, regional meetings and others.
With the new information, the contributions in cash and in kind were fired from S/18,500.00 to S/125,305.08, an increase of almost 578%. There was also an increase in funds from events and collection dinners organized by the political organization, which went from S/81,850.00 to S/410,210.32.
Innaten bonanza
In the detail of the income to the party, there are data that cannot go unnoticed. For example, of more than half a million soles that Peru first reported in 2024, the ex -president today only contributed four times a total of S/2,500.
‘Advice and consulting’, ‘Rentals’ and ‘Other services provided by third parties’ were the edges where the most spent funds reported the party.
With the income, salaries of S/40 thousand such as Carlos Illanes, head of the DINI during the Vizcarra government and today general manager of his party were paid. In addition, according to its report, the party disbursed almost S/21 thousand at its anniversary dinner.
The bonanza was not only reflected in income. The expenses also grew: from S/88,746.07 in 2023 to S/469.125.57 in 2024, almost all covered with private funds. The net assets – the real value of the organization – almost sexuted, from S/13,595.51 in 2023 to S/78,729.34 in 2024.
The financial strengthening of Peru first comes at a little time for the party and for Vizcarra. The ex -president faces judicial processes for receiving alleged coimas as governor of Moquegua. For that reason, the former governor will see how the political campaign advances from the Barbadillo prison.

“Each member of the CEN makes a monthly contribution and fund collection activities were carried out, all duly informed to the ONPE in their opportunity. These income have covered the fixed and variable expenses, the operational work has been increased, having managed to consolidate the party,” said the accountant of the Judith Pomachagua party to this newspaper.
