He Judicial Branch The accusation control hearing against former president Martín Vizcarra, who is investigated for the alleged crime of collusion during his management as Regional Governor of Moquegua.
The measure was arranged by the fifth National Preparatory Investigation Court, by Judge Víctor Alcocer Acosta, at the request of the ex -president himself who is accused of simple collusion for alleged irregularities in the award of public works during his period at the head of the Regional Government of Moquegua between the years 2011 and 2014.
The ex -president is charged to have arranged with representatives of the companies workinsa and ICCGSA to favor them in the award of two emblematic projects: Lomas de Ilo and the Moquegua hospital. In return, he would have received S/ 2.3 million in bribes.
Martín Vizcarra He has demarcated these accusations claiming that he had no direct competence in the hiring processes, so he could not be the author of the crime. In addition, his legal team tried to declare the accusation by adducing that the legal deadlines had already defeated.
However, the judge rejected that request arguing that since it is a crime against state heritage, the prescription period doubles.
The collusion process could lead to an oral trial. Likewise, in parallel, the former head of State faces another accusation for passive bribery, for which the Prosecutor’s Office requests 15 years in prison.
