Martín Vizcarra is transferred to the Ate Vitarte Hospital due to a severe hypertensive crisis

The former president of the Republic, Martin Vizcarra, He was transferred this Thursday, December 19, to the Ate Vitarte Hospital after suffering a severe hypertensive crisis.

Vizcarra presented a decompensation in the morning hours, which forced his immediate transfer to the health facility to receive specialized medical care.

The National Penitentiary Institute of Peru (INPE) has not issued, for the moment, a statement on the transfer of the former president or on the measures adopted after the medical emergency.

Vizcarra is serving a 14-year prison sentence after being found guilty of the crime of passive bribery, within the framework of the Lomas de Ilo and Hospital de Moquegua cases, linked to his management as regional governor. The sentence was handed down by the Fourth Collegiate Criminal Court of the National Superior Court, which ordered his immediate arrest in court.

Precisely last Wednesday, this criminal court accepted the appeal presented by the former president against this sentence.
