The document states that six business days (12 calendar days) have passed without receiving a response. This is despite the fact that according to the Organic Law of the Judiciary, the documents are provided within 48 hours of their presentation and “it is prohibited to issue dilatory resolutions that are not related to the meaning of the request,” it reads.
Faced with this scenario, the former president wrote on his official X account: “Twelve days of complicit silence. They have my appeal frozen when the law requires processing in 48 hours. I am no longer a candidate, what else are they looking for? Do not use the excuse of bureaucracy; this is a systematic violation of my rights to sustain a sentence that is falling apart.”
The document also warns that if the request is not attended to, it will be communicated to the National Control Authority (ANC) of the Judiciary and “to all relevant instances”, since Vizcarra would be prevented from exercising his rights and questioning the judicial decision.
