The candidate for the presidency for the Popular Party (PP), Martín Torrijos Espino, assured that they maintain the commitment to generate new jobs and conditions for the growth of the country and that in each region there are poles of development, to avoid migration from the countryside towards the capital city.
In a coordination and political organization meeting held in the city of Chitré, province of Herrera, work was done to identify the regions by province and productive areas to be developed.
“Reiterating the commitment that we have together with the popular party, to generate new jobs and conditions for the growth of the country and that in each region there are development poles where the provinces can grow; where young people can develop, and that Panamanians from the interior do not have to emigrate to the city [capital] to get a job,” said the former president of the Republic.
The idea, he stressed, is to develop sectors such as tourism and agro-industry in each province, for example, through cooperatives.
Among those attending the meeting was the former deputy and second vice president of the Republic in the period 2004-2009, Rubén Arosemena, who affirmed that the objectives set by Torrijos Espino and the PP, of which he is an activist, are achievable and in a transparent manner, no corruption.
“Yes, you can govern, execute works without the need to steal, and Martín proved it in his Government; He showed that he could govern, carry out works and leave a legacy of honesty to young people, to future generations, ”said the also lawyer.
