The Minister of Justice, Martín Soria, affirmed that there is a “promiscuous relationship” between the Supreme Court and the Government of Buenos Aires, maintained that the issue “is nothing new”, and assured that the events of the last few days revealed that ” Justice in our country is neither independent nor impartial”.
In statements to Télam, the official maintained that “the collusion between Together for Change (JxC), the Supreme Court, sectors of the federal Justice and large media is unfortunately nothing new.”
He added that “the recent leak of chats and conversations that prove the promiscuous relationship between the Court and the City Government is the corollary of a process of degradation of the Judiciary never before seen in our democratic history.”
The official assured that the process began when then-President Mauricio Macri “signed the decrees to appoint (Horacio) Rosatti and (Carlos) Rosenkrantz seven years ago.” at the head of the court, but “it worsened until it reached the current situation: a Supreme Court that violates the Constitution and intervenes in the other branches of the State only to guarantee the political interests of Together for Change.”
“In recent years there have been innumerable situations that have revealed that Justice in our country is neither independent nor impartial,” continued Soria.

In this context, he added: “Without going any further, I myself have denounced the clandestine meetings that Macri and judges held in the Casa Rosada and Olivos to set up causes and imprison political leaders, workers and trade unionists.“.
For the minister “incredibly, after three years of promoting fundamental and necessary judicial reforms for our country and facing an institutional blockade never seen before -they paralyzed the Council of the Magistracy, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate-, the internal descarnada de JxC ends up bringing to light and confirming what all Argentines know is happening”.
In this sense, he argued: “The Court and the main opposition party manipulate and intervene in other State powers to guarantee the political interests of Macri and (the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio) Rodríguez Larreta and the economic benefits of certain economic groups at the expense of the pockets of the workers”.
Earlier, in statements to FM Futurock, Soria had been consulted precisely for his statements that the scandal of the leaks of the chats between officials, businessmen and judges is due to the internal opposition.
“The only ones who spent four years doing this type of espionage were them,” he replied.
Soria pointed out that the request for impeachment of Rosatti announced by President Alberto Fernández “It is the only valid institutional way to respond to a series of behaviors, attitudes and failures that are totally arbitrary and unjustified” and also “contrary to the Constitution and the laws.”
“The last, perhaps the most shameful and arbitrary, was to grant a precautionary measure to the City Government, sweeping federalism in Argentina without any foundation, only in order to finance the presidential campaign of the communal chief,” he added.
However, he indicated that “the poor performance is not exhausted in that single and shameful failure of the co-participation.”
