Antonio González, husband of Martha Grajales, NGOs emerging NGOhe reported on Monday that he is detained at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) of Maripérez, Caracas, which he had visited four times and had denied his presence.
“The place where she was held from Friday (when she was arrested) until today is the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bolivarian National Police in (the area of) Maripérez, a place to which we were four times: the same day of the arrest, on Saturday and Sunday twice, and Martha Lía was denied,” González said through a video published by the NGO supplies.
He pointed out that he also held a meeting with the public defender assigned to his wife –accused by the prosecution of incitement to hate, Conspiracy with foreign government and association- and denounced that she could not choose her trusted lawyer, despite having requested it.
“I demand communication with my wife,” González said, and asked that the physical integrity of Grajales be confirmed.

The group protested to denounce the aggressions against relatives of political prisoners that occurred on Tuesday during a vigil in the vicinity of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), a fact that only publicly recognized the Ombudsman’s Office.
Since their detention, national and international organizations have expressed concern and demanded from the Venezuelan authorities their immediate release.
“I ask the immediate release of the human rights defender Martha Lía Grajales. She was arrested after a demonstration in Caracas on August 8. His family and lawyer must be informed about their fate and whereabouts. His human rights must be respected,” said Volker Türk, high commissioner of the United Nations for Human Rights.
