Gianina García Troche, who also used the false name of Larissa Márquez Madalena, wife of fugitive drug trafficker Sebastián Marset, may be punished today in court after being formally charged by the Prosecutor’s Office for links to international cocaine trafficking.
The preliminary hearing against the woman and her family is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, before Judge Livia Alarcón.
The Controlled Substances Prosecutor’s Office, headed by coordinator Julio César Porras, filed charges not only against Gianina García Troche, but also against Jimena Katherine Marset Cabrera, sister of Sebastián Marset; Mauro García Troche, brother of Gianina García; and Héctor Rodríguez Barrios.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office is requesting the detention of Gianina García for 180 days, along with her family, all of whom are fugitives from justice.
The indictment on drug trafficking charges comes after Gianina was arrested on arrival in Madrid, at Barajas airport (Spain), on the 17th of this month.
Investigations indicate that the woman appeared after she fled on July 29, 2023, along with her husband Sebastián Marset, her two minor children, and other relatives from her mansion in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, located on Beni Avenue, on the fifth ring road.

Among the evidence presented, the Prosecutor’s Office records actions in operations carried out in the capital.
A report issued by the Felcn and the Prosecutor’s Office on November 15, 2023, regarding the raid on a house in the Urubó hills was attached to the investigation booklet. During the raid, a search was carried out on the property, where marijuana was found, a prohibited substance that was certified by pharmaceutical biochemical experts.
The investigations indicate that Sebastián Marset lived in that condominium with family and friends.
Likewise, documents related to Edgar Enrique Marset Días, father of Sebastián Marset, were found.
Reports from Spanish authorities indicate that Gianina García, after arriving at Barajas airport, handed over her cell phone and, after an examination, it was detected that she had arrived from Dubai, where she took numerous photos with her husband Sebastián Marset.
Paraguay’s anti-narcotics and public prosecutor’s office authorities reported that Marset is in Dubai.
Gianina García Troche is also being investigated for document forgery and the authorities of the Public Ministry reported that the necessary procedures are being carried out in order to facilitate her extradition so that she can answer before the Bolivian justice system.
The Felcn and the Prosecutor’s Office established in reports that, three days before the escape, Marset took her children out through the back door of the school where they studied.
