Who granted the Paraguayan passport to Marset? Has an investigation been opened? What clue do you have about which country Marset would finally be in? These are some of the questions that refloat, after learning about the trips made by the fugitive with a Guarani document.
The Uruguayan press reports that the fugitive managed to travel to several European countries with the false (Paraguayan) passport that was provided in our country.
Marset traveled to France, Turkey and Greece, before he was briefly detained in the United Arab Emirates, where he landed with his forged documentation. However, very quickly he was released, after accessing new documents legally provided from Uruguay.
The Uruguayan Interior Minister, Luis Alberto Heber, told reporters that after Marset’s arrest in the Emirates, the Uruguayan authorities were unaware that the fugitive was processing Uruguayan documentation.
“Neither we nor the Foreign Ministry had information that Marset processed a passport, I say this at the level of the political authorities,” Heber pointed out.
The procedure through which the Uruguayan passport was granted (after an arrest warrant against drug traffickers) was carried out following current regulations and was adapted to the administrative sphere, so that the political authorities are exempt from responsibility for what happened.
How did Uruguay achieve documents so quickly? And this even when an international arrest warrant already weighed on him.
