According to Radio Ñanduti, the President of the Republic Mario A. Benítez announced his candidacy for the presidency of the ANR.
The lawyer and former legislator Adolfo Ferreiro, had already stated that Abdo Benítez can run for the presidency of the National Republican Association (ANR), because there are no legal grounds that disqualify him.
In this way, Mario Abdo Benítez will have to face Horacio Cartes, who has already confirmed that he will bid for ownership of the ANR. The party institution has an extension of the mandate of its authorities, such as the members of the Governing Board, of the different sectionals and conventional delegates that go until the end of the year 2022.
