Marithea is a worthy young representative of Colombian freestyle in the world. She was recently crowned champion of the Battle of Los Gallos Red Bull in 2021, being the first woman in our country to achieve it.
Today it was known that the woman from Cali will not be in the first edition of the Freestyle Master Series of Colombia (FMS). His absence has caused surprise in the field of this art that consists of rapping with rhythm or flow in an improvised way or with a letter written on a free microphone on a base.

“Unfortunately, in this first season of the FMS Colombia it has not been possible to combine calendars with Marithea so that she can be part of the league,” announced the official account of the event that does not yet have a date for completion.

The organization lamented the absence of one of its best exponents:
«For us it is a shame, since we consider that he is not only a benchmark of Colombian freestyle, but also a great person. The doors of Urbano Rooster and FMS Colombia will always be open for her », the organization said on her Twitter account.
For her part, Marithea, through an interview on YouTube, explained why she will not be in the competition that hopes to bring together freestyle figures such as Valle del Cauca Valles-T.
«This is simply an external thing, which they cannot control, neither I nor anyone in fact; it was just something that happened.” It refers to the incompatibility between the calendars of the dates of FMS Colombia and the dates of other commitments that she has acquired », said the young woman.

It is worth noting that the Freestyle Master Series (FMS) is the first Spanish-speaking professional freestyle rap league. It’s a young competition, dating back to the early 2010s, and ‘The Urban Roosters’ was the team that devised and created a competitor rating system.
Beginnings of Marithea
Marithea (alias composed of her name, Mari, and *thea*, goddess in Greek) started improvising when she was only 14 years old. Five years later, in 2019, she was the first woman and Afro-Colombian to win a Red Bull Regional, in addition to finishing third in the Final that year and obtaining second place in the Crossing of Champions. The freestyler is therefore used to the podium. She is National Champion of Red Bull Battle Colombia 2021 and representative of her country in the international final.
When he improvises, he takes full control of the battle, anticipates and responds easily without neglecting coherence and content. His style is spontaneous, pure, incisive and forceful, always standing firm on the punchline and managing attack and defense.
Although today she is one of the greats at an international level, she began as a fan, watching videos on YouTube. She hasn’t left this world since then, her friends are freestylers, she mostly listens to rap and battles, and despite the crisis she is going through in her country, she is focused on this. She is part of Team Tricolor (Colombia + Venezuela) at God Level 2021 along with Valles T, Letra and Lancer Lirical and she is not afraid to take risks, to try and works to maintain what she has achieved and keep improving.
