Unanimously, Mario Ferreiro, former mayor of Asunción was acquitted. The Sentencing Court acquitted the communicator of guilt and reproach for not proving the act punishable by breach of trust.
The Public Ministry had requested 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment for Ferreiro and Carlos Mancuello. And another 6 months for three other defendants. This for the case of parallel boxes in the commune.
Judge Yolanda Morel affirmed that no damages were found despite the accusation of alleged patrimonial damage of G. 1,311 million referred to by the Public Ministry.
“For this Court, there has been no patrimonial damage to the Municipality of Asunción. There was a discharge but it had a consideration that was the performance of the service. This Specifications and Conditions established the places where the works that were granted to the company 8A should be carried out. The Specification was approved by the Municipal Board in 2014”, he pointed out.
