MIAMI, United States. – Cuban-American Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart sent a message this Sunday to the residents of the Island, when a third day of massive blackout was completed after the “total disconnection” of Cuba’s electrical energy system due to the lack of fuel and the failures of the thermoelectric plants.
“Another day without electricity for the Cuban people. “This is due to the corruption and ineptitude of the Cuban regime, a narco-corrupt regime that has been destroying the country for more than 60 years,” the congressman began his brief message.
Immediately, he assured that he will do “everything possible to fight for the inevitable freedom of the Cuban people,” who, he acknowledged, “are taking to the streets.”
Then he finished: “We are with you, you are not alone, we must continue fighting for freedom.”
This weekend, multiple cacerolazos and peaceful protests were occurring during the night of October 19. The demonstrations were concentrated mainly in the provinces of Havana and Santiago de Cuba.
A shared video on Facebook by activist Juan Moreno, director of the community media Havana Dawn, of the Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and the Press (ICLEP), shows dozens of Cubans who stopped traffic in San Francisco de Paula, a street in the capital, made pots and pans ring.

Just this Sunday, the Cuban ruler, Miguel Díaz-Canel, threatened to citizens who protest in the midst of the energy crisis that the country is going through and which worsened last Friday with the “total disconnection” of the National Electroenergy System (SEN).
In the video of a meeting held this Sunday, which was released by the Presidency’s office, Díaz-Canel assured that his government was not going to accept or allow “anyone to act causing vandalism and much less altering the citizen tranquility of our people.” ”.
