Mario Díaz-Balart sends a message of support to Cuban political prisoners: “They are not alone”

The Republican congressman reiterated his support for imprisoned opponents in Cuba and demanded the release of Duannis León Taboada, Félix Navarro and José Daniel Ferrer.

Madrid, Spain.- Cuban-American congressman Mario Díaz-Balart on Tuesday sent a message of solidarity to political prisoners in Cuba, whom he described as “heroes” for his continuous struggle for the freedom of the Cuban people.

In a Video posted on your X accountthe republican legislator for the state of Florida highlighted the cases of Duannis León Taboada, Félix Navarro and José Daniel Ferrer, whom he appointed and praised for his resistance from prison.

“Today I want to highlight the heroes who remain imprisoned in Cuba, thousands of political prisoners. Among them Duannis León Taboada, Félix Navarro and José Daniel Ferrer, who continue to fight and advocate for the freedom of the Cuban people,” said Díaz-Balart.

“Cuba will be free for the heroes like you, who continue to fight for what is inevitable, the absolute freedom of the people. They know that they are not alone,” he added.

The congressman has maintained a constant position of complaint against human rights violations committed by the Cuban regime. Last week, demanded immediate liberation and unconditional of Duannis León Taboada, a young manifestor of July 11, 2021 who was on hunger strike for ten days in the prison of the East Combined, in Havana.

Díaz-Balart has been one of the strongest voices within the US Congress in support of the Cuban opposition and in the defense of the fundamental rights of Cubans.
