This Friday, the Departmental Legislative Assembly (ALD) of Santa Cruz will hold the election of an interim governor who will assume duties while Mario Aguilera participates in an international meeting in Colombia. The session takes place from 10:00 in the Assembly chamber.
Aguilera will travel to Cali, Colombia, from October 21 to 27to attend COP24, a global conference on climate change. In his absence, an assembly member will be elected as interim governor.
“Today’s session will analyze the proposals of the party leaders and assembly members to elect an interim governor for the duration of architect Aguilera’s trip,” explained Antonio Talamás, president of the ALD.
During her participation in COP24, Aguilera will talk about the fires that affect the department of Santa Cruz and the consequences for biodiversity. Aguilera’s presence also seeks to open the possibility of accessing international funds to mitigate environmental disasters.
“It is a great opportunity to channel financing and seek international support to counteract the effects of the fires in the region,” Talamas added.
