The second edition of “Immersive Experiences of Paraguay” (EXPYLAB), a project that seeks to bring together artists from different artistic areas and promote immersive creation collectively, keeps its call open until September 25.
The EXPYLAB is aimed at Paraguayans and Paraguayans / or foreigners with at least 2 years of residence in the country.
The call that opened from August 25 to September 25, 2022 to participate in the laboratory that will take place from October 19 to November 4, 2022.
For this, the Expylab team also toured the interior of the country, through the cities of Caacupé, Ciudad del Este, Encarnación, Itacurubí, in order to bring all the information to obtain applicants from different points.
This year, among the prizes for the participants, an artistic residency in Ushuaia, Argentina stands out, thanks to an international cooperation alliance established with Virtuality Buenos Aires.
Applications will be accepted from all communities in Paraguay, both urban, rural and indigenous. For those selected from the interior of the country, the EXPYLAB organization will cover the roundtrip transportation to Asunción, in addition to accommodation for the days of the laboratory.

Confirmed and confirmed and/or emerging artists can present themselves from the following areas: creators, screenwriters, directors, designers, musicians, sound engineers, photographers, technologists, programmers, visual artists, scenic artists, illustrators, and from any area related to artistic creation.
On the one hand; EXPYLAB invites creators to present their projects in the idea and/or development stage.
They may be narrative projects, fiction or non-fiction, 360 video, virtual reality, animation, binaural sound experience, augmented reality, and any other type of immersive format.
On the other hand, EXPYLAB invites artists from all other areas to apply with the aim of joining the work team of one of the selected projects, and contributing to its development.
During the laboratory, those selected will have consultancies, tutorials and masterclasses that will allow them to finish their projects in a state of prototype and advanced development.
EXPYLAB 2022 will culminate with a pitch session, where they will defend their projects before a jury of professionals from the sector.
Awards
– A face-to-face artistic creation residency in Ushuaia, Argentina, by Virtuality BA and the French Institute
– 1 stand of 4mts2 in Virtuality Paraguay to be held in March 2023
– 2 personalized consulting sessions for two projects
– English scholarships awarded by the Paraguayan American Cultural Center (CCPA)
The selection committee for projects and applicants is made up of international specialists from the immersive sector.
EXPYLAB
The EXPYLAB was born in 2021 with the aim of accompanying confirmed and/or emerging artists in the development of their immersive projects.
Every year, for two weeks, at the French Alliance of Asunción, the selected artists work on the development of their projects with the tutoring and support of professionals from the local and international immersive sector.
In its first edition, EXPYLAB brought together 10 creators, 5 women and 5 men from seven locations in the country.
As a result of the laboratory, two participants were awarded a scholarship for an intensive workshop on project development given by the “New Images Festival of Paris”
