The auditorium of CADE Executives 2025 witnessed one of the most emotional moments of the business meeting: the presentation of the Businesswoman of the Year 2024 Award, awarded by IPAE Acción Empresarial to Mariela García de Fabbri, general manager of Ferreycorp.
With a serene smile and the award in his hand, García de Fabbri received applause from hundreds of executives who celebrated his example of leadership and commitment to the country.
The recognition, one of the most anticipated in each edition of CADE, rewards those who promote the development of Peru beyond the business sphere. On this occasion, the jury highlighted García de Fabbri’s almost four-decade career at Ferreycorp, a century-old corporation born as Ferreyros and today with a presence in several Latin American countries. Under his direction, the group has been able to reinvent itself, grow and promote strategic sectors that generate value and progress.
But its influence transcends corporate boundaries. Mariela García de Fabbri is also an active voice in business, civil and educational spaces. From her role as president of Entrepreneurs for Integrity, she promotes diversity, inclusion and the fight against corruption, causes that she considers essential for national development.
“I deeply thank IPAE for this distinction that we interpret not only as recognition of a personal career, but as support for a way of doing business in Peru and bringing its fruits to society,” said the executive.
In his speech, García de Fabbri recalled that the Peruvian business community must continue to be an engine of change. “We businesspeople have to continue being the driving force of the country with a determined vocation to invest and take risks, to generate formal employment and to continue innovating,” he stated, highlighting the importance of ethics and values as pillars of business development.
He also called not to limit oneself to the field of business. “We have the duty to be an active, committed and coherent voice in the different spaces of national life,” he emphasized, underlining the responsibility of the private sector to participate in the country’s major issues: education, health, security and justice.
Before closing her speech, she dedicated the award to the leaders who marked the history of Ferreycorp and to all the businessmen who, like her, are committed to a fairer and more competitive Peru. “Thank you, IPAE, for this distinction. This award is a call to continue working for a better country. Let’s join forces and lead with values. Let’s continue creating development,” he concluded.
