Mariela Castro: “With imperialism there is no possibility of negotiation, only dialogue”

Mariela Castro Espín

MIAMI, United States. – Mariela Castro Espín, daughter of the dictator Raúl Castro, assured in an interview with the official media Latin American Summary that “Cuba” is preparing for a “political and military defense” against an alleged “imperialist attack” and vindicated the doctrine of “war of all the people.”

“Principles are not negotiated. With imperialism and all its facets there is no possibility of negotiation (…), there is no possibility of negotiation, only dialogue,” said Castro Espín, the most media-friendly of the four children of Raúl Castro and the guerrilla Vilma Espín.

These statements by the director of the National Center for Sexual Education (CENESEX) of Cuba and deputy of the National Assembly of People’s Power (officialisa) have drawn particular attention at a time when Washington has asked the island’s regime to negotiate a way out of the serious crisis that the country is going through, and voices such as Pope Leo XIV and the Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, have asked the two countries to dialogue.

Castro Espín also dedicated a large part of his statements to referring to the president of the United States, Donald Trump, whom he described as “a psychopath” with “neo-Nazi” and “fascist” overtones.

“No, he’s not crazy,” he said. “He is a psychopath who also grew up without limits. Anything goes and ‘what I want I take’, no matter what,” he added. He then described the president of the United States as “a man without limits, unpredictable, without ethics, a man sick with power since he was a child.”

Other of his most controversial statements were articulated around the thesis that US action would be guided by a global economic elite and by what he called “Zionist entrepreneurship”, which he also held responsible for influencing political leaders, promoting wars and conditioning international institutions.

“The United States (…) occupies a place of leadership, of hegemony, which is becoming more and more total,” he stated, before adding that this dominance is exercised “from a global dictatorial position,” and not only from the State, but also “from the figure of Donald Trump and the entire group of gangsters who follow him and who benefit from all these policies.”

In his statements, Castro Espín equated Israeli intelligence practices with American power: “The Mossad’s way of acting does not differ from the methods of American imperial power, because they are the same thing, they were born almost together, they have developed and strengthened each other,” he maintained, and he attributed to that alliance the ability to “eliminate entire populations” and “assassinate popular leaders who bother them.”

In addition, he denounced the internal immigration policies in the United States: he stated that “ICE” carried out a “brutal persecution of migrants” against “men, women and even children,” and added that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents murdered “people with incredible ease and impunity,” to conclude that “Trump’s fascism is lethal.”

At the regional level, Castro Espín called the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, a “wimp” and said that he played “the game and the party” for Trump.
