The economist Maribel Gordón, who is part of the single dialogue table, spoke on Monday about economic policies, revealing that our country occupies one of the worst places in wealth distribution and half a million Panamanians have unsatisfied needs in food matters, this, alluding to the freezing of prices of the basic family basket.

He added that 19.1% of children up to the age of five suffer from malnutrition, the informality rate is around 60% if we include the agricultural sector, “this is the result of a model that they want to perpetuate, those who have accumulated excessive wealth and what has been imposed in this country is an oligopoly market, especially in the marketing and distribution chains”.

He said that when talking about a model, it is vital to build an economy for life, since in Panama more than 300 thousand people go to bed without eating.
