The decision also includes his withdrawal from the Senate race with a view to the elections 2026.
The departure was formalized through a notarized letter addressed to the president of the political organization, Guillermo Suárez Flores. In the document, the former Minister of the Interior maintains that his permanence in the party became unsustainable due to the way in which questions that compromised the transparency of the electoral process were handled.
In his statement, González affirms that he informed the leadership of his concern about certain events, without concrete measures being adopted or timely public explanations offered. In his opinion, this lack of response affected the internal credibility of the party and its relationship with citizens.

He adds that the silence in the face of these questions ended up weakening the principles that motivated his incorporation into the party.
González also highlights that the absence of clear and verifiable answers led him to conclude that there were no political or ethical guarantees to continue as a militant or as a candidate in a process supervised by the JNE.
