Former Minister of the Interior Mariano Gonzalez qualified as abusive the complaint filed by the President of the RepublicPeter Castle, against him task force coordinator of the National Police, Harvey Colchado.
“When Colonel Colchado, accompanying the entire special team of prosecutors, who goes to the Government Palace to enter the residence, he does not do it because he feels like it, but because he is responding to a fiscal provision and a judicial resolution . I find the president’s complaint against Harvey Colchado abusive. In addition, he intends to intimidate him and the Special Team”, he said for RPP Noticias.
The former Minister of the Interior pointed out that the seriousness of this fact is that it seeks “weaken the work of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Special Team”. Furthermore, he argued that the head of state would not be complying with the constitutional order.
“It also implies the beginning of the rupture, willingly or not, but the Government and Castillo would be pretending break the constitutional order because it is violating another power. It is ignoring a judicial resolution, ignoring autonomous work such as the Office of the Prosecutor of the Nation and, practically, it is imposing itself on other powers and autonomous entities that it does not respect and is also trying to intimidate the national police”, he pointed out.
Mariano González assured that Pedro Castillo was obstructing justice
At the end of July, Mariano González was removed from the Interior portfolio. After that, he maintained that one of the reasons for his departure from office was due to the fact that the President Pedro Castillo was “annoyed” for having brought the colonel Harvey Colchado.
He even assured that the president was obstructing justice in order to prevent his nephew Friar Vasquez and the former secretary of the Government Palace Bruno Pacheco are arrested; although the latter is already at the disposal of the authorities and is coming revealing facts against Pedro Castillo.
“Today I have no doubts about the commitment that Mr. Castillo has with corruption. I have no doubt that this abrupt departure has to do with obstructing the administration of justice. I believe that Mr. Castillo is obstructing justice because he is impeding the work of the specialized intelligence agents who are looking for the fugitives”, he told Panamericana TV after his abrupt departure.
