Marianela Ancheta after her coronation: “Cuba is going to have a voice”

SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- On the night of this Thursday, September 26, the Miss Universe Cuba jury chose Marianela Ancheta to represent the Island in Miss Universe 2024which will be held in Mexico City on November 16.

Interviewed by Telemundo After her coronation, Ancheta expressed: “Cuba is going to have a voice on a platform as large as Miss Universe,” while thanking those who supported her. “This is a dream come true,” said the representative of the Central Region, and a native of Ranchuelos, Villa Clara.

Overwhelmed by the emotions of the moment, she stated that wearing the crown was an honor for her and her opportunity could serve as an inspiration for Cuban women: “Cuba is going to make history after 57 years. “This is the new story of Cuban women, all those girls who see me, who grew up like I grew up, this is their time.”

On their social networks, in addition, wrote: “This triumph is not just mine, it belongs to every Cuban who dreams, fights and never gives up and to all the people who follow me!”

In a gala that included the participation of Aymée Nuviola, the performer Lenier Mesa and the young singer Génesis Díaz, the 24 candidates They paraded down the catwalk for the last time before finding out that Ancheta would be Miss Cuba.

The finalists, all Cuban emigrants, represented a Cuban province, region or community abroad and have been involved in various events and activities in recent weeks.

The applicants were: Sandra Mariscal, Mayabeque; Lisandra Burgois, Matanzas; Alina Robert, Havana; Cinthia García, Villa Clara; Maylín Hernández, Granma; Yahima Mora, Santiago de Cuba; Adriana Álvarez, Community of Spain; Rachell Vallori, Isle of Youth; Marianela Ancheta, Central Region; Diane Barbano, Pinar del Río; Sisily Marin, Ciego de Ávila; Karina Polanco, Camagüey.

Also participating were Vaitiare Navarro, Sancti Spíritus; Laynet Wong-Den, Holguín; Monica Ramos, Guantanamo; Rosangela Rizo, Western Region; Liza Muñiz, Eastern Region; Gallia Vega, Colorados; Lizandra Parra, Las Tunas; Joseline Rodríguez, South American Community; Patricia Pérez, Jardines de la Reina; Arlety González, Cienfuegos; Leanny González, Artemisa; Aleida Josefa Pérez, Jardines del Rey.
