María Teresa Cabrera is sworn in as president of the JNJ

The former congresswoman Maria Teresa Cabrera Vegalinked to the owner of the political party Podemos Perú, José Luna Gálvezwas sworn in today as president of the National Board of Justice (JNJ) for the period 2026.

Along with Cabrera Vega, Judge Víctor Hugo Chanduví Cornejo did the same as vice president of the entity that is in charge of the selection, appointment, evaluation, ratification and dismissal of judges and prosecutors at all levels.

Likewise, the appointment of the head of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), and the head of the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec).

María Teresa Cabrera, it is recalled, was elected to the position last December by 4 of the 7 votes of the Plenary of the JNJ and will hold the position for one year.

The current judge was a congressman of the Republic in 2020 as part of the political party Podemos Perú led by the current presidential candidate of that group José Luna Gálvez; She was also third vice president of the Parliament’s Board of Directors.
