She is spontaneous, funny and does not mince words. This is how you can describe Maria Rene Pomacusi (22). The young woman, who rose to fame for being authentic and transparent on social networks, became one of
the content creators with the most followers.
‘Nené’, as they call him affectionately, suffered from bullying when she was overweight, she reached the point of living on medication for depression and losing 40 kilos. today shines
with its own light
Say what his mother is the closest what has your heartwho feels admiration and love for his father and who inherited a taste for
the cameras. But being the daughter of the famous journalists Sissi Áñez and José Pomacusi was not enough to achieve success. What she has achieved so far is the result of her effort and work.
What do you think you inherited from your parents?
Growing up watching my parents in the media taught me a lot about this world, there are several things about their careers that I admire. I think my mother inherited the sensitivity to face interviews and empathize with the public.
She always showed me that having a voice that is heard in public is a great responsibility, that I owe myself to the love and support of the people and that I must always take care of that. On my father’s side I think I inherited the determination to get what I want and not being afraid to touch topics or ask difficult questions, from there is born the respect of your audience.
-Does she like to be reminded that she is their daughter?
It doesn’t bother me that they recognize me as the daughter of my parents, it bothers me that some people think that everything in life was given to me easy because of them. I admire and love my fathereven if there is distance in between, he will always be my father.
my podcast We are no longer babies I worked on it for months and I did not receive any economic contribution from my parents, I started with a camera, without a sponsoring brand and a lot of fear. Today we have the largest digital production team at the Bolivian level and I am proud to say that this is the result of the work of a team, of my perseverance and it did not happen by magic, because I was “daddy’s and mommy’s little daughter”.
-What is the key to your success?
I think showing my life as it is, without pretending to be perfect or have it all figured out. Transparency and spontaneity helped me form a very nice community in networks. I share experiences like my surgery
gastric sleeve, my process with mental health and many other topics that
sometimes it’s hard to share. My networks are not there just to get a laughI would like to inspire others through my story.
How do you define your mom?
My mom is the closest person to my soul and my heart. She is by my side at all times, accompanying me, she is my good companion, who knows how to be there when I laugh, but also when sadness invades me and I cry. We have built a beautiful mother-daughter relationship based on love, on
mutual respect and acceptance.
How is your relationship with your dad?
Intact as long ago. I admire and love my father, even if there is a distance in between, he will always be my father and love is intact. I am María René Pomacusi Áñez, María René Áñez is how they know me on social networks.
Do you plan to follow in the footsteps of your parents?
My generation is more into social media and it’s what I love to do.
Television has more structure and I am more of a flow on camera. I am not closed to exploring the possibility in the future, but for the moment my focus is on consolidating my podcast and growing on social networks.
-With your bariatric operation, what have you set aside and what have you managed to do?
I put aside my bad eating habits and the toxic thought that I am worth the way I look. There are people who make us feel bad about how we look, create a hatred towards ourselves for living in our own skin and the truth is that, for people, it will never be enough.
After losing 40 kilos, people continue to comment on my physical appearance and what should be ‘improved’. That’s when I understood that I should only compare myself yourself and turn off external noise. I love myself for what I am, for the lived and learned, from my achievements and failures, from all that María René is, beyond the physical.
-Did you suffer bullying?
Yes, a large part of my life has been listening to negative comments about my weight. They made fun of me and told me that I was not going to achieve anything because I was fat. My self esteem was on the floor. and I isolated myself from everything, no
I was leaving my house and I lost contact with a lot of people. I was embarrassed to be seen and felt that by hiding I was protecting myself from being hurt with
hurtful comments. I even got to be medicated for depression a lot
time, the process was not easy, but now I appreciate everything I lived through because it forged my character.
How do you deal with the ‘haters’?
At the beginning, the issue of ‘hate’ in networks was very difficult for me, people can be very cruel and do not realize the impact of words, with them we build or destroy. Now, with a little more experience in networks, I have learned to take my attention away from those destructive criticisms, I listen to the opinions of the people who love me and who I know want the best for me. At the end of the day your ‘hater’ is your biggest fan, they even flatter me
–How are we in love?
I’m meeting someoneI do not close myself to the possibility of a new love. Everything calmly and patiently, good things are built and that is with time.
Have you ever suffered for love?
Yes, I think that at some point we all have that love that teaches us everything we don’t want in a relationship I had to live an infidelity that hurt me a lot and that broke my heart at the time.
