The president of the Congress, Maria del Carmen Alva (Popular Action), said that his political party should meet to assess whether they vote for or against admitting the vacancy motion against peter castle due to permanent moral incapacity.
“Some (members of Acción Popular) have personally said that they are going to accept the vacancy motion on Monday. I understand that they will have to meet to make a decision.”commented from Ica before the press.
On Monday, March 14, the plenary session has been scheduled in which the motion for vacancy against President Pedro Castillo, signed by 50 parliamentarians from different benches, will be debated and voted on.
Alva recalled that she, as president of the Legislative Power, will not vote in the plenary session, so she avoided expressing her personal opinion on the admission of the vacancy motion against the head of state.
At another time, the head of Congress commented that the president’s image has worsened due to accusations of corruption.
“The surveys, as we always say, are a snapshot of the moment and it is evident that due to the latest complaints and everything in the situation, approval (of Pedro Castillo) is lowering”commented.
