The confirmation coincided with the statements of Ana Corina Sosa, daughter of Machado, who received the award on behalf of her mother at the ceremony held at Oslo City Hall. From the podium, the young woman announced that the reunion with her mother would take place in a few hours.
“I can tell you that in just a few hours we will be able to hug her here in Oslo after 16 months,” he said.

European diplomats consulted after the ceremony agreed that the recognition of Machado “moves the red lines” in the relationship between Caracas and the Scandinavian governments, which have historically promoted negotiated electoral solutions.
