María Corina Machado will be a “fugitive” if she leaves Venezuela, warns Tarek William Saab

Tarek William Saab proposes alliance to the US to extradite Guaidó and Vecchio

Spokesmen for the Maduro administration have publicly expressed accusations of different kinds – without presenting evidence – against María Corina Machado. However, so far there has been no public information about the start of a formal investigation, summonses to testify before the Public Ministry or any arrest warrant that has been issued.

Attorney General Tarek William Saab stated on Thursday, November 20, that María Corina Machado would be considered a “fugitive” from Venezuelan justice if she leaves the country.

In statements to AFP, the official referred to the opposition leader, who was awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize and the award ceremony is scheduled for December 10, in Oslo, Norway.

“Being outside of Venezuela and having numerous criminal investigations, she is considered a fugitive,” said prosecutor Tarek William Saab about Machado, accused, he said, of “acts of conspiracy, instigation of hatred, terrorism.”

Saab said that Machado is also being investigated for her “call to invade Venezuela” by supporting the US military deployment in the Caribbean.

Machado assures from hiding that he is in Venezuela, although he has expressed his intention to travel to Norway to receive the award. The Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded on December 10 in Oslo. Several Latin American leaders have said that they will accompany Machado that day.

“More than 100 mercenaries” are prosecuted

The United States mobilized the largest aircraft carrier in the world along with other warships and fighter planes for operations against drug trafficking, which President Nicolás Maduro claims are seeking his overthrow.

The prosecutor also said that “more than 100 mercenaries” are being prosecuted by the Venezuelan Public Ministry. It links them to plans against Maduro developed by the US intelligence agency CIA.

“There are dozens of mercenaries of more than 30 nationalities, all of these mercenaries are linked to the CIA,” he said.

The authorities announced a month ago the arrest of alleged CIA collaborators.

US President Donald Trump has said that Maduro’s days are numbered and authorized clandestine CIA operations in Venezuela.

The United States anti-drug operation has so far left more than 80 dead in twenty attacks against alleged drug boats. Caracas calls these bombings “extrajudicial executions.”

Washington also plans to declare the alleged cartel led by Maduro as a terrorist organization.

A declaration of this type gives legal support to military action against the country, although Trump has also shown his intention to meet and speak with Maduro.
