MIAMI, United States. – Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado He addressed the Venezuelan people on Tuesday gathered in the streets of Caracas in protest against the results proclaimed by the National Electoral Commission (CN), which gave victory to the ruling party Nicolas Maduro despite allegations of fraud.

Machado, accompanied by opposition candidate, former diplomat Edmundo González Urrutia, highlighted the efforts and determination of Venezuelan citizens in defending their vote.

Machado also assured that the official records were processed and scanned, and that they are currently available at a web portal consulted by millions of Venezuelans. “So that the whole world knows that Edmundo González Urrutia won,” he said.

“We united a country,” he also proclaimed. “Many Venezuelans who once believed in Chavismo are with us today.”

At another point in her speech, the opposition leader called on citizens to avoid aggression and asked them to focus on fighting the regime’s fraud. “There can be no aggression between citizens here, what we are fighting here is the regime’s fraud,” she said.

Addressing the law enforcement officers, he said: “Military citizens saw with their own eyes the triumph of a country over a tyranny and today we send you this message: your duty is to defend popular sovereignty and protect the people,” he urged.
